Bench & Bust
In the Great Hall at the Library of Congress, clad in white marble, with a multi-color marble and brass-inlay floor. This "lobby" is symmetrical;
there is a matching niche and single bench on the opposite wall of stairs leading to the upper level, where most of my earlier images were made.
Above the bust (of George Washington), figures representing America & Africa sit beside the globe; their partners opposite represent Asia & Europe.
